Epidom is the worldwide Astronic religious industry and the lifestyles, philosophies and contributions of the people associated with it considered as a transnational community of organisations and people united in their adherence or scholarly discussion and participation in the development and advancement of Astronism. Epidom is therefore distinguished from the worldwide community of Astronists known as the Astrosa, but may be considered as an intertwined and overlapping community with the Astrosa.
Epidom can be considered the equivalent of the terms Hollywood and Bollywood, but for the Astronic religious industry, but rather than being confined to a particular place or nation, Epidom is transnational and intercultural. Despite this, the origins of Epidom can be traced back to the same place of the origins of Astronism itself in the City of Preston in the English county of Lancashire in the United Kingdom centred on the person of Cometan. There are various different centres of Epidom recognised in different regions and nations of the world according to the extent of the activities of the Astronic religious industry in that place.
Etymology
Epidom is formed by the prefix epi- relating to being upon or above and the suffix -dom which relates to a condition or a state of mind or a physical community. Epidom is Cometanic and post-omnidoxical in origin.
